So today I learned about three times in the next week you can get free or almost free food. Today Ben and Jerry's gave out free ice cream cones to anybody who walked in the door! James and I took the kids and it was great!
Monday, April 27th, KFC is giving out a piece of their new grilled chicken to any customer that walks through their doors. I heard about this on a friends blog but here's a link to confirm it: http://www.unthinkfc.com/
Wednesday, April 29th, Baskin Robbins will be selling scoops of ice cream for 31 cents to honor America's firefighters from 5:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M. Here's a link to confirm it: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/1593252/free_ice_cream_cone_from_ben_and_jerrys.html?cat=22
So after I learned about this free food I decided to go on a hunt for more. This is what I found http://www.familyfriendlyamerica.com/kidseatfree.html This is a site where they list all the restaraunts that offer free or discounted meals to kids on certain days of the week. One that isn't always listed is Denny's. Most Denny's offer free kids meals on Tuesday, with the purchase of an adult meal.
This site also had some cool ideas http://www.ehow.com/how_4562069_get-free-food.html?ref=fuel&utm_source=yahoo&utm_medium=ssp&utm_campaign=yssp_art
So go have some free food!

More cakes
I made this cake Saturday for a friends birthday. It turned out better than expected. I was kinda sad I didn't get to eat this cake because it was two layers of red velvet cake with an entire can of cream cheese frosting in between the layers and a can covering it with chocolate frosting accents. Yum!

Easter Sunday
Easter Sunday we blessed Sam. James' parents were able to make it to the blessing which was so exciting because we didn't think anybody was going to be able to come. Sadly I didn't get any good pictures of the girls Easter dresses but that's okay because we are going to have them professionally done since we don't have family pictures with Sam in them yet. After the blessing we had a bunch of friends over for a barbeque and Easter Egg hunt. It was so fun. The best part was when I talked the other adults into Easter Egg hunting with me. I don't have pictures of that part but trust me it was funny.
The Beach
So last Thursday night I went and hung out with my friends and one of them asked if we wanted to go to the beach the next day since there wasn't school (it was Good Friday). I honestly didn't want to because the only time I'd been to the beach was in California in early spring and it was butt cold and it smelled awful. But I thought, "what the heck, my kids have never been to the beach so we'll give it a try." So Friday we loaded up the kids and drove down to Galveston. It was pretty cool because we drove across a huge bridge to get to Galveston Island, then we took a ferry to the coast. I had never even seen a ferry so that was way cool. When we got to the beach I was very skeptical. But once we got out and I realized there wasn't a rancid smell and the water wasn't cold we had a great time. The girls loved it! It was so nice to not have to entertain them for like 3 hours straight!
