Thanksgiving 2008

This year we had Thanksgiving at our house with my cousin Niki and her family and the missionaries. It was a new experience for me because I have never had to make anything for Thanksgiving because we have always gone somewhere but this year we not only hosted it but we made the turkey, potatoes, gravy, stuffing, and 6 pies! Niki was awesome and brought the ham, broccoli salad, veggie tray, and 4 pies. It was crazy but I think it went really well. I was so excited about hosting it that I got a little crazy and bought cloth napkins and table cloth, and goblets and plates for the occasion. I know that's a lot but I got some slammin' deals on all of that. And it was beautiful if I do say so myself.

Twilight

Friday at 12:01 AM 6 of my friends and I went to see Twilight. Actually we left around 10:00 PM Thursday and went to the theater to stand in line and there were already a ton of people there, most of whom were under 18 females. But us old farts were just as excited to see the movie (I bought the tickets a week early). So anyway the movie rocked! But I was disappointed that Jacob wasn't cuter because I admit I had the hots for him the whole time I was reading the books. Oh and the showhouse we were in had this horrible crackle through the whole movie so we all got a free ticket so James and I are going together this week, I'm excited.

Despite the fact that I loved the movie I thought some of the computer generated running and climbing was cheezy but the movie was still awesome.

Girls at Play

A couple days ago the girls were playing with this ball so I took some pics.

Halloween 2008

Charity and Eliza made the most adorable pirates for Halloween.

Charity loved trick or treating. She carried hers and her sisters buckets the entire night. We kept asking her if she wanted us to take one and she refused.
We had a wonderful Halloween.

Carving Pumpkins

For FHE we decided to carve pumpkins. I admit I had my doubts about whether or not the girls would get into it.

Charity and I took turns feeding each other pumpkin goo.

Eliza was intrigued with what's inside.

After we fed each other pumpkin, Charity decided to feed the pumpkin some pumpkin goo.

Lizzy wasn't too keen on touching the goo but she liked playing with it after it was cleaned out.

Eliza and Charity kept trying to put the pumpkins back together like a puzzle.

The Girls really loved it when we took the pumpkins outside and put candles in them but when we came inside Charity wanted to bring them with. It took some convincing to get her to let us leave them outside.

Diarrhea, Blood, and Vomit!

So lets just say it was a rough weekend. All week Lizzy has had diarrhea which gave her a nasty rash and I was getting about sick of changing diapers and then the weekend came which is normally a good thing because with it comes James home to help. Well that was not the story this weekend because James had signed up to run a relay with 9 other guys that went from San Antonio to Austin (196 miles). James left our house at 4:30 am Friday and didn't plan to return until Saturday evening sometime. We were doing alright until Friday night when I looked in the fridge and there was nothing easy to feed the kids so I sat down to sulk. Fortunatley the Lord was looking out for me and Niki (my cousin) called about 10 minutes later and invited us over. I was feeling very lonely without James so it was such a relief to leave the house. While at Niki's, Jessica (our friend) called because her husband was also doing the relay so she came over too. That evening Lizzy fell and bashed her front teeth and they bled a little which was sad but then an hour later she fell again and bit through the top and bottom of her tongue and bled all over the place. That night Jessica invited the girls and I to sleep over which was really nice but Lizzy had a hard time sleeping because her tongue hurt and then in the morning when we woke up she through-up in her bed. I thought the vomit was from all the blood she swallowed so after I cleaned up the mess and Jessica bathed Eliza I fed her. That morning Niki's daughter had a birthday party so we went to that and once again Eliza vommited. Niki helped me clean her up which a really appreciated. After the party I went to pick up my friend Stephanie so she could do laundry at my house. On the way home Eliza pucked again. So Stephanie bathed Eliza while I cleaned the car seat, at which point I was drive heaving. By now I was about to lose it, I was short on sleep and more than sick of cleaning up vomit and diarrhea. Finally around 6:00 James got home and let me have a break. Eliza through-up one more time that night so I decided I was not taking her to church in the morning. It was such an awful weekend but I feel so blessed that the Lord sent three wonderful women into my life to help me while my sweet husband was gone. I truelly feel the Lord only gives me what I can handle and knew I could handle it with a little help from my sweet sisters.

The Pumpkin Patch

James and I took the girls to a pumpkin patch today.

It was so hard to get the girls to both look at the camera at the same time so I decided to just be content with them looking almost forward.

We let Charity choose which prop to stand behind and she decided the pumpkin was her favorite.

Eliza looked so cute as a ghost.

The girls enjoyed climbing on the pumpkins though Eliza got frustrated that most of the pumpkins were too big for her to climb over.
